Your uncle produced Vampire Penguins, A Corpse Line and Meltdown on Elm Street, and he has left you his Malibu estate on one condition: find the ten treasures he hid in it, in a single night, or lose the lot. Dave Anderson took the oldest structure in the form—a house, a list, a deadline—and filled it with the props of an imaginary filmography and the booby traps of a man who considered practical jokes a personality. It is the Infocom game least interested in saying anything, and it is a pleasure for exactly that reason: a whole mansion built to be rummaged through.

Front and back photographs document Michael’s sealed Atari ST copy—including the taut shrink-wrap and its glare across the cover, the platform banner naming the 3½-inch Atari ST release, and the intact ISBN panel on the back. Hollywood Hijinx shipped without a map; its feelies were a copy of TinselWorld, Aunt Hildegarde’s will, an autographed photo of Uncle Buddy, and a lucky palm tree swizzle stick. Historical materials remain with the preservation projects that made them available.
